Missouri Fly Fishing in the Little Piney River

Fly fishing in Missouri's Little Piney River with Stream Side AdventuresThe Little Piney, located near Rolla, offers two diverse trout fishing opportunities. The upper portion, nearly 10 miles, is managed for wild stream breed rainbow trout as a Blue Ribbon Fisheries. Many exceed 18 inches in length. These trout are not easily fooled, but with a combination of fly fishing skills, knowing the area and some luck, the rewards are there.

Downstream of the Blue Ribbon Trout Management Area, the Little Piney is a White Ribbon Trout Management Area. In this nearly 4 mile long section of the river, the goal is to provide just over 550 catchable rainbow trout per mile.
