This summer STREAM SIDE ADVENTURES was able to guide four anglers to complete their quest for the Wyoming CutSlam. The CutSlam is a challenge to catch and release each of Wyoming 4 species of Cutthroat Trout, the Yellowstone, Bear River, Fine Spot, and the Colorado River. Congratulations to Matt Tabbert, Mike Bush, Dough Goodman and Greg (Max) Maxwell for joining the elite group of anglers who have completed the challenge.

This summer we were exploring a new stream, while actually an irrigation ditch, for Colorado Cuts. We found some Cuts but even better were the arborglyphs we found.
Arborglyphs are carvings of names, dates, or images into tree bark. A recent carving of a heart with E. C. and B. D in the middle is an example. The ones we found were older and often more involved. Most were high up in the mountains in a relatively open area near a pass. Our arborglyphs were carved by sheepherders. Originally they were Basques. Now most of the shepherds are either Mexican or Peruvians. Bur they still are practicing this art form. View more arborglyph pictures...
While the fishing is the primary reason for joining us on a summer adventure, the opportunity to view some of the breathtaking scenery, the flowers and the wildlife is an added attraction.

High water levels from this summers extended runoff made the fishing tough this summer. But specializing in the higher elevation small streams, STREAM SIDE ADVENTURES was able to find and catch quality trout. Check out some of our fish.
