March Madness

March was a relatively busy month for seminars. On the 8th, in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation and Heart of America Fly Fishers, we presented a seminar in Kansas City on alternatives to fishing the Trout Parks. We got some great feedback on the seminar. Much of it was focused on the amazement about Missouri’s other potential fly fishing opportunities.

On the 16th and 17th I was one of the featured tiers at the Sowbug Roundup in Mountain Home, Arkansas. I stuck to what I do best, “Simple Flies for Fishing Lies – Just Thread, Lead and Two Materials.” I just tied coyote clousers, mohair leeches and the STREAM SIDE ADVENTURES generic nymph (See Dallas Fly Fishers October newsletter https://www.dallas-flyfishers.org/leader/index.htm page 5 for the recipe).

On the morning of the 16th I did a seminar on how to plan a successful fishing trip.
